Lowe’s of Mississauga
A new Lowe’s home improvement store in central Mississauga was part of a multi-tenant commercial development. The 115,000 square foot store was constructed on a 6.5-hectare site, with a potential for a future 67,000 square feet of retail development. HUSSON provided engineering design in support of re-zoning and site plan approvals.
HUSSON prepared the detailed design for the site servicing, grading and stormwater management, as well as off-site improvements for the Mavis Boulevard widening as required for the site access.
The re-zoning process required demonstrating how the site could tie in to the surrounding residential subdivisions. Our team of engineers coordinated the complex approval process, including noise mitigation, site layout to provide appropriate screening and setbacks, landscaping and grading. The construction administration involved the coordination of a significant amount of fill for the site, raising the site by 5 metres to achieve the required grades.
